Lan Ha Bay is located in the east of Cat Ba
Island, overlooking the seaport, adjacent to Ha Long Bay. Lan Ha Bay is over
7,000ha wide, of which 5,400ha is the management area of Cat Ba National
Park. The bay is very quiet in an arc shape with about 400 large and small
islands.

Different from Ha Long Bay, all islands, big or small, in Lan Ha Bay are
covered with trees or vegetation. The density of limestone mountains here is
quite thick and still very wild, dividing the sea surface into groves and
coves, many of which are unexplored. There are hundreds of mountains with many
interesting shapes that attract tourists and stalactites caves such as Ham
Rong, Gio Cung and Ca caves.
Lan Ha Bay has hundreds of beautiful, pure sandy beaches. Many long
sandy beaches between two blocks of rocky mountains, quiet with no big waves,
are really ideal beaches. Under the clear blue water are colorful coral beaches
such as Van Boi and Van Ha beaches. The calm waters like Sen Island, Cu Island
are where visitors can dive to see the coral.
With small boats, visitors can squeeze through the
ravine excursions in the grove, coves to visit caves, rest on the beach between
the sea such as Vem Vm, Tai Keo, Tung Gau, Monkey Island, where are preserving
a lot of monkeys, in the sea there are well-developed pearl farming facilities,
which are attractive tourist attractions.
The typical symbol of the bay is Turtle Island,
unlike Monkey Island, where there are not many individuals of turtles but the
special thing is that the island has the shape of a huge giant tortoise,
surrounded by surrounding mountains forming a pool.

Lan Ha Bay is peaceful with small fishing
villages living in peace. Looming under many clusters of islands is rafts
culturing aquatic products such as green mussel, Geo-Duck, cobia, crab,
abalone, grouper. Many fish rafts on the bay provide live fish and shrimps
according to tourists' daily culinary needs.
Visitors
to Cat Ba can travel through Cat Ba National Forest, home to many valuable
animals, including rare white-headed langurs and coniferous forest. Overcoming
Ngu Lam peak, at the end of the journey is Viet Hai fishing village, the most
unspoiled fishing village of Cat Ba Island, where visitors can discover many
interesting things about a northern fishing village.

With its
potentials, Lan Ha Bay is developing various types of tourism, forest
ecological services and islands serving domestic and foreign tourists.
